Als Blower Drives History
'Al' First Started out in 1969 as a Diesel Mechanic on heavy equipment, and soon after became involved in hot rodding and drag racing. He started Als Blower Drives in 1983 and since that time has been providing the local guys with a blower Shop dedicated to street and race blower sevice. Al started racing in 1973 with a 283 powered WW2 Jeep, eventually to 302 Chevrolet supercharged power. The Jeep  was very popular in New Zealand in the 1970's. This created a demand for building engines for Street to Race from std 4bbl to blown alcohol engines for customers, and 'Al' provided specialized machining and fabricating work which eventually led Al along with brother Bruce to build from a flat table up their own full chrome moly tubed Blown Alcohol 358ci small block powered 'Wild Bunch' 68 Camaro race car.
ALS BLOWER DRIVES, New Zealand distributor for The Blower Shop, and TorqStorm Superchargers, is located in Henderson West Auckland which with 1.4 million people is the largest city in New Zealand. About the size of California New Zealand is in the South Pacific with a population of around 4.5 million people.
